Holidays:

Acknowledged as cultural appreciation through the Montessori Peace Curriculum.

Birthdays:

Every Child's birthday is a special day. To honor the child and their family, "the special Montessori Birthday lesson" is presented to the class, which focuses on the "special" Birthday Child. Parents create student picture timelines, which the teacher incorporates into this charming lesson.

Cultural Experiences:

Specialists are invited to perform and present preschool cultural lessons periodically through out the year. Cultural lessons in Spanish, French, Japanese and Russian provide children the chance to hear, taste, dance and sing about different cultures.

Welcome Back Party:

This event is held the week before school begins. Often called the "meet the teacher" or the "parking lot" party, this event is for families to meet their teachers and new classmates.

International Children's Day:

This October cultural celebration is held in honor of our beautiful children. This is an event where children parade in native costumes from around the world. The parade is followed by classroom and musical presentations.

Halloween:

We do not observe or dress up for Halloween.

Fall Scholastic Book Fair:

A great opportunity for teachers and parents to find books for their student and children. Proceeds from the sale go to the school for enrichments.

Annual "Fun" Raiser:

Over the years, these activities have ranged from picnics, formal dinner parties, auctions, bingo parties, sports day, parking lot dances, outdoor art show, bake sales and concerts, we've had fiddle music, concert music and even jug bands visiting the school. These "fun" raisers take place anytime between February and May.

Frank Leto Children's Concerts:

Over the years, Mr. Frank has presented a series of concerts for children held at the Sandia Prep Theatre. These concerts are a huge hit with children and parents. TMDS students get to see their music teacher on stage an have fun singing their favorite Mr. Frank original songs in this family style sing-a-long concert. Concerts are usually held in January. Mr. Frank CD's and Videos are also available for purchase in the office.

March Music Festival:

Usually held during March, we have a special presentation that features your little musician making great music. We often rent Sandia Prep Theatre for this event.

Spring Fling/Graduation:

This event is held during the second half of May. This event is an important and emotional event for each child and family. Graduation celebrates the milestones their children have passed and the progress they have made through the year.
